150 MW (AC) SOLAR PV POWER PLANT AT SCCL, TELANGANA
The proposed Solar powered plants are to set up at various areas of SCCL, i.e., in the districts of Bhadradri Kothagudem, Peddapalli, Mancherial districts of Telangana State.

BHEL will be setting up the plants on EPC basis at four locations in the state including 50 MW plant at Ramagundam in Peddapalli district, 39 MW plant at Yellandu, 30 MW plant at Manuguru in Bhadradri Kothagudem district and 10 MW plant at Pegadapally in Jagtial district. With the addition of this order, the solar portfolio of BHEL has increased to over 710 MW.

In June 2018, the state-run company had won two orders, worth more than Rs 1.25 billion, for installing 30 MW of solar PV power plant projects on EPC basis in the sate of Gujarat.

BHEL has created capability in key segments of PV value chain that include PV modules, solar cells and power conditioning systems and units.

Besides solar PV projects, the company provides entire EPC solutions from concept to commissioning for off-grid as well as grid-interactive SPV power projects in several parts of the country, including Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

The government-owned entity is also in discussion with several international lithium ion battery manufacturers for setting up a manufacturing plant in the country. The company is expected to have a 20 per cent stake in the manufacturing plant, whereas the other partner will have a majority share.

Telangana targets to connect 5,000 MW of solar power to grid by 2022

Telangana has been the frontrunner in generating solar power in the country and going forward with plans to stay ahead of other States.

It moved from being a power-deficit State to ending power cuts within just six months of formation. And according to top officials, the State is planning to add an additional 473 MW of solar power to the existing 3,336 MW connected to grid. The State had set an ambitious target of connecting 5,000 MW of solar power to grid by 2022.

Karnataka topped the installed solar energy capacity chart at 5.16 GW followed by Telangana at 3.4GW and Andhra Pradesh at 2.56 GW as on July 31, 2017, the minister noted.

The country is on track to comfortably achieve the target of 100 GW of solar capacity by 2022.

Isaac Farayi (Zambabwe)

The presenter had a very good l knowledge of the solar business in India as well as of Solar Technology so I got some very good ideas that can also apply to my market. Understanding the solar system especially the DC part as well as the whole planing and feasibility process. Coming from an Ac background and working with some solar technologies from time to time I realized that there was so much I had been missing. I am now more confident to tackle the solar market. They helped consolidate the lectures on design as well as appreciate practical aspects of wiring as well as mechanical installation. lST very well structured and comprehensive programme. Excellent investment for anyone wanting to venture into Solar business.
