7 MWp solar project at its facilities in Luxembourg

Solarvest Holdings Bhd (“Solarvest”) and Serikandi Holdings Sdn Bhd proudly announce the successful launch of Brunei’s first rooftop solar project at Jerudong International School in June 2024.

The project includes a 5 MWp rooftop solar array and a 2 MWp carport system. These installations will be spread across Goodyear’s various facilities in Colmar-Berg, Bissen, and Dudelange, Luxembourg. Expected to generate an estimated 6,500 MWh of electricity annually, the energy will be consumed on-site; significantly reducing Goodyear's carbon footprint. The initiative is projected to save approximately 3,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.

As the global solar market is on track to exceed 500 GW of new installed capacity in 2024 and is projected to cross the TW level before 2030, the effects of this strong acceleration are also visible in the European Union. Having reached an operating solar fleet of 269 GW in 2023, the EU is projected to control nearly 900 GW of solar capacity by the end of the decade, outpacing national and EU solar targets.
