TMY (Typical Meteorological Year) is a synthetic dataset of hourly weather values meant to represent an "average" year over a long historical period To get the most accurate performance estimate for a PV plant, system designers take the raw horizontal GHI data from a TMY file and mathematically transpose it into POA Irradiance using the planned panel angles.
