Pune Solar Project

1-MW roof-top solar plant at Pune

Bearings and seals maker SKF India has set up a 1-MW roof-top solar plant at its Pune facility, taking the capacity of such solar generated power across its campuses in Pune and Bengaluru to 2.1 MW.

The roof-top power project has been commissioned by ReNew Power that has invested in setting up 4,100 panels, and entered into a contract with SKF to purchase the power generated for a 25-year period.

The installation is expected to generate 1.5 GwH of power and cut carbon dioxide emission from Pune by 1,200 tonnes per annum.

Introduction on PV applications and current global market trends. Grid-tied PV systems. Training for contractors, project managers, engineers, electricans, quality inspectors etc. Early bird discount. Course selection support. Skilled training provider.

SOLAR POLICY FOR Maharashtra - Residential, Commercial & Industrial

1. NET METERING -
Net metering is a billing system that allows rooftop owners having solar system installed at their rooftop to sell any excess electricity generated from solar system to local electricity utility
Capacity of solar system
Size: Up to 1 MWp; with variation of 5%
Voltage level: 230 / 240V : upto 8 kWp max., 400/ 415V (Three phase)
Above 8 to 150 kWp max. in Metropolitian Area and 8 to 80 kWp in Other Areas
11 kV and Above Level : Above 150 to 1000kWp max. in Metropolitian Area and 80 to 1000 kWp in Other Areas
The HT consumers (11 KV and above) may install and connect Rooftop Solar PV systems at their LT bus bar System provided that, in such cases, the Net Meter shall be installed on the HT side of the Transformer

Maharashtra solar policy

Maharashtra has set a target of generating additional grid-connected solar power capacity of 7500 MW by 2019. Of this, 2500 MW would be generated as a public-private partnership with MAHAGENCO (Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd, formerly known as the MSEB). The remaining 5000MW solar power projects will be tendered to other developers.

Rooftop Solar

Maharashtra approved the states rooftop solar energy policy in January 2016.

The policy offers several concessions encouraging both public departments and private entities to go solar. The policy instructs Civic Development Authorities to provide construction permission only to government buildings and colonies that pledge to install rooftop solar.

Government and semi-government offices that have pledged to go solar can receive up to 100% subsidy, while private offices and companies can receive up to 15% subsidy for installing rooftop solar panels.

Residential, commercial and industrial buildings are setting up rooftop solar systems to cut down energy bills, making use of the subsidies offered by the government.

Net Metering for Domestic Solar Rooftops

Maharashtra provides a net metering system for domestic solar rooftops. The size of the solar system determines the voltage level that will be fed into the grid, and the MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd.) is in charge of the application processing for Net Metering.
