Solar project to charge Kerala's power sector
The Kerala State Electricity Boards (KSEB) project which aims to generate electricity through rooftop solar panel units is getting a good response as more than one lakh consumers have already registered on the Boards website. The initiative could bring about a big change as Kerala has been lagging other states in terms of harnessing solar power.KNOW THE SCHEMES
3 different schemes will be offered to the consumers
In the first two schemes, KSEB will bear the expenses related to solar panel installation and maintenance
In the first scheme, consumers will get 10 per cent of the total produced electricity free of cost
In the second, consumer will get any quantity of electricity produced at a fixed rate
In the third, consumers will invest in the solar power systems. They will be able to use the entire energy generated on their roof tops and entitled to sell the generated solar power completely or partially to the KSEB
