Zoram Energy Development Agency (ZEDA) is an autonomous body established by the Government of Mizoram with its Headquarter at Aizawl, Mizoram. ZEDA is registered as a Society under the Societies Registration (Extension to Mizoram) Act, 1976 (Mizoram Act No. 3 of 1977)
Mizoram has set a target of 80MW to be achieved as a part of the National Solar Mission of 2022.It has been made mandatory of the state government buildings including institutes to install rooftop solar. Central Government offices in the state are also required to install solar as an attempt to push rooftop solar. Net metering policy has been put in place as well, so that any consumer who wants to go solar can feed back extra power they generate to the grid and get compensated for that. Zoram Electricity Development Agency (ZEDA) has also promoted the use of solar and provided several solar lamps, heaters etc to several villages in the state.
